Applications for Technical Panel Training 2012

Applications for Technical Panel Training

Skate Canada – Central Ontario Section is now accepting applications for those interested in becoming Sectional-level Technical Specialists and Technical Controllers for all four (4) disciplines.

The deadline to submit applications is Friday March 2, 2012. Please note that the training session is likely to be held in June or July of this year. Synchro training is slated for later in the fall, to reflect the later competitive season.

Only those applicants supported by the section will be accepted into the training
session. Please note that, as in past years, the needs of the organization with respect to
additional officials will be given priority consideration when applications are reviewed.
You can find the applications on the Members Only section of the Skate Canada website
– www.skatecanada.ca. Click on Members, Officials, Promotion Documents and then the
appropriate application form. You can also choose to email me at the address below and
I can send you the application form. Feel free to inform other interested colleagues and
have them email me for details.  All applications should be submitted to the Technical Officials Chair (see below).

Interested applicants are reminded to review the Officials Definition and Appointment
Qualifications document which can be found on the Skate Canada – Members Only
website. Click on Technical & Programs, Rules, and then Officials, Definition,
Appointment, Qualifications.

**Note: It is recommended that Technical Specialist candidates should have experience
as a former skater, coach, judge, referee or Technical Controller at the Challenge level. It
is also recommended that Technical Controller candidates should have section level
referee qualifications in the discipline associated with initial appointment to Sectional
Technical Controller. Technical Specialists can apply for training as a Controller in the
discipline in which they are already qualified as a Specialist.
