Walkerton Figure Skating Club, April 6th, 2017

The Walkerton Figure Skating Club, located in Walkerton, Ontario, is looking for enthusiastic skating coach(es)for the upcoming 2017-2018 season. Consistent, positive growth of the WFSC membership has dictated the need for additional coaches, preferably an increase from the current 3 coaches up to 4-5 coaches. There will be opportunity to coach Canskate, Starskate and private lessons. The 2017-2018 schedule runs from September 11th, 2017 until late March/April 2018 with skating sessions held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Flexibilty and/or variations in coaching to the above will be given to desirable candidates. Canskate only coaches will also be considered as applicable. Newly trained/certified coaches welcome to apply.

Coaching Opportunities with the Streetsville Meadowvale Skating Club.

Located in Mississauga Ontario, our club offers CanSkate, STARSkate and Competitive Programs as well as some Adult sessions.  Our membership is approximately 500 skaters and growing, we skate Mondays through Saturdays at Meadowvale Four Rinks.  
We are looking for enthusiastic additions to our professional coaching staff who have a positive attitude and will lead by example being a positive role model for all our staff and skaters.  If you have a passion for excellence and are a team player we are looking for you!

The ideal candidates will need the following qualifications:
- NCCP Canskate Certified
- Provide Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance

STARSkate Coach Positions
The ideal candidates will need the following qualifications:
- NCCP Primary Starskate Coach (Level 1 Certified)
- NCCP StarSkate Coach at Provincial or National level (Level 2 or 3 Certified)
- The candidates must be certified with the new Star 1-5 program
- Candidate must be available/interested in teaching Adult learn to skate programs
- Provide Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance
- First Aid Certification
  Dance Coach/Partner Position

The Newmarket Figure Skating Club currently has an opening for a self-motivated, detail oriented and highly organized individual to work as an Office Manager within our club. 
Responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative support to the club members, board of directors, coaches, volunteers and committees
  • Complete and manage administrative tasks associated with skater registrations for all Club programs, including the input of new season programs, the processing of payments and creating/updating of skater class lists utilizing Club provided software
  • Prepares/distributes skater documentation/information including name tags, report cards
  • Provide support to skater’s and parents answering enquiries through phone, email and in person
  • Assist Skating Program Coordinator as required, including the scheduling of ice times and coaches for all programs
  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings, events and other similar activities
  • Liaise with Treasurer for monthly payroll, bank deposits, bank reconciliations, account statements, etc.
  • Negotiate contracts for Ice time and other supplies.
  • General photocopying, faxing, mailing, emailing, creating labels, file maintenance
  • Update website and bulletin boards with Club information
  • Attend executive meetings as required
  • Ordering office supplies and organization of office space
  • Some evenings and weekend hours are required at the Magna Centre

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Quickbooks
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, etc.)
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Previous experience in customer service oriented position an asset
  • Experience working with Uplifter and website editing an asset 
  • Figure Skating background and knowledge of Skate Canada is an asset
  • College education is preferred

Working Conditions:

  • ~40 hours/week, will vary depending on time of year
  • Some office hours as well as some evenings and weekend hours are required at the Magna Centre

Forest Hill Figure Skating Club
The Forest Hill Figure Skating Club currently has an opening for a self-motivated, highly organized and capable individual to work as an Office Assistant within our club from Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding general administrative support to both coaches and clients

  • Assist Executive Director in scheduling

  • General tidying and organization of office space
  • General photocopying, faxing, mailing, creating labels, file maintenance
  • Prepares announcements, posters, and other documents as required
  • Update website and bulletin boards with club test and competition results
  • Ordering office supplies

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

The Newmarket Skating Club is currently looking for a self-starter, enthusiastic team player to join our coaching staff.  We are one of the largest clubs in Ontario.  Our focus is providing a positive environment for all of our members who wish to improve their skating skills, at any level, and for those who are just learning to skate.

We offer ice time and programs that are suitable to for training in CANskate, STARskate, competitive skating and Synchronized Skating.

The interested candidate should be a registered Provincial Skate Canada coach (Level 2).  Coaches will be provided with various opportunities to build a business and must be looking to establish a career here at the Newmarket Skating Club. 

The successful candidate will be able to develop strong basics at the grassroots level with a proven track record of developing skaters from a Star 1 level through to a Gold level STARskater or competitive level skater.  The candidate must be familiar with the new Star 1-5 program.

Coaching Position Available

 

East York Skating Club Ice Dreams Synchronized Skating is currently looking for an enthusiastic, team player to join their coaching team. Our teams' focus is on developing strong fundamental skating skills, turns and edges in a fun and supportive team environment. In 2016-2017, we have teams at the Beginner I and Elementary levels.

Interested coaches must be a registered professional coach at the Regional/Primary STARSkate/Level 1 or above. Coaches must be able to teach strong fundamentals to beginning and developing skaters. Coaches should have synchronized skating experience, either as a coach or as a skater.

Successful applicants must be available to teach Wednesday nights at East York Arena and Sunday mornings at Commander Arena, as well as to accompany the teams to all competitions.
