APRIL 21, 2008 The Prince Albert Skating Club in Saskatchewan is currently seeking Technical Director to join our team. The PASC offers programs 6 days per week with approximately 26 prime time hours. Daytime rush ice is also available. Our season runs from mid August to March 30, with the possibility of ice into May. A year round training facility is located 90 minutes away with numerous skaters attending this facility for the off season training. The Technical director will be responsible for administering all on ice programs offered by the club. The PASC has a strong history of competitive success. The new Technical Director could expect to be supported by the rest of our dynamic team and an enthusiastic executive. Power skating experience would be an asset. Preference will be given to Level 3 certified coaches. Consideration will be given to lower level coaches, depending on past experience & qualifications. APRIL 16, 2008 CRSC Club Coach The Campbell River SC, in its 35th year of operation in Campbell River, British Columbia, is seeking an NCCP Level 3 certified Skate Canada Coach with coaching experience in freeskate, skills, and dance. A welcome addition to our current team of two coaches will be the applicant who is dedicated, motivated and team orientated. Positive chemistry between our coaches is of utmost importance. Experience in the areas of dance partnering, pairs, synchronized teams, choreography, and/or competitive skating would be an asset. Club Coaches receive a monthly retainer based on experience, workload, and qualifications. In our winter season, our club currently offers approximately 17 hours of private lesson ice for StarSkate and Competitive Skaters and 8 hours of group lesson time for CanSkate, CanSkate Academy, Tiny Tots, Adult/Teen, Pre-Junior, and CanPowerSkate to 170 skaters. Our season runs year round September to mid-April for winter and spring sessions and a 4-week summer session in July and August. The city is going to referendum in the fall for permission to add a third arena for our area. Elk Valley is nestled in the Rocky Mountains in the South Eastern corner
of BC. We are 15 kms from the Alberta border and approx 60 kms north of
the Canada-US border. Sparwood and Elkford are approx 25 minutes apart.
This area is one of the fastest growing vacations spots in BC. Our valley
boasts one of the top 10 ski resorts in the world, Fernie Alpine Resort.
Our largest industry is coal. Elk Valley Coal Corporation has 5 mines
in the area, they are the 2nd largest producers of coal in the world.
All 5 mines have an ongoing employment program. We are looking for someone that would be willing to work with the learn-to-skate group right up to our starskaters. We have quite a few skaters that attend local competitions so we need someone that is willing to work on competition programs as well as dance and skills. - April 5th, 2007 SKATING COACHES (Contract Positions -September to May) Pickering College and the Hilltop Skating Club are recruiting dynamic and qualified Coaches for our Figure Skating Program. Reporting to the Director of the Junior School, these contract positions will offer both on and off ice lessons to the skaters participating in the competitive figure skating program. Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence and to the improvement of student achievement. You will assess and evaluate students using a range of assessment strategies and tools applicable to figure skating. We require two coaches with Level 1 or 2 Coaching Certification and one coach with Level 3 or 4 Coaching Certification. You must have a working knowledge of the Skate Canada test requirements, previous coaching experience, International and/or Olympic experience and a strong understanding of an integrated approach to coaching figure skating. As a condition of employment, the successful candidates must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Report. - March 28th, 2007 The Coquitlam Synchro Teams are looking to expand their coaching staff. Coquitlam is located very near to Vancouver, BC. We are happy to hear from anyone interested in working with our current coaches for the upcoming seasons. We not only welcome applications from coaches with synchro experience, but we are also interested in hearing from mature skaters (perhaps recently 'retired') still without coaching credentials. - March 14th, 2007 The Leaside Skating Club is looking for Synchronized Skating coaches
to join our Synchro Coaching team of Meredith Gilbert and Jennifer Williams.
Leaside is holding tryouts later this month and hopes to have 5 teams
for the 2007-08 season including Competitive Novice, Festival Junior,
Festival Novice, Festival Juvenile and Festival Pre-Juvenile. Leaside
teams practice primarily at the Leaside Memorial Gardens, located at Millwood
and Laird in mid-town Toronto, with some additional practice time at other
mid-town Toronto arenas. Coaching positions are available in Spring 2007.

Schreiber-Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club - Schreiber, ON The Schreiber-Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club located on the north shore of Lake Superior is currently seeking a minimum NCCP Level 1 coach with experience or a NCCP Level 2 coach (would be an asset) for the 2007-2008 skating season. Our season runs from September to the end of March with 25 hours of ice per week, including 8 hours of club coaching time. We pay 10 hours a week for administration. Our club also offers our skaters off ice and we have the potential of offering a spring and fall session. We have 50 skaters ranging from Canskate to Starskate/Gold Level, recreational and competitive in nature. Our club has several skaters who have competed at the Regional, Sectional, and National levels. The successful applicant will be responsible for programming, attending Test Days, Competitions, and will be responsible for the annual year end ice show, along with two other smaller exhibition ice shows. We have an energetic club with skaters who are committed; practice with much enthusiasm and above all love to skate. The preferred candidate must be positive, dedicated, self motivated and enthusiastic. Moving assistance to be determined and professional development funds to be negotiated.
