SKATE OAKVILLE
Skate Oakville is currently accepting applications for Skate Canada certified CanSkate instructors – if you are certified and ready to teach CanSkate, we would like to hear from you! We would like to hear from both experienced coaches as well as connect with newly certified coaches who want to start instructing CanSkate, so College and University students are welcome to apply. Applicants must be registered with Skate Canada, and have valid first aid certification. Great candidates will possess loads of enthusiasm and be team players.
Skate Oakville operates out of the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex and Glen Abbey Recreation Centre in Oakville.  We are an energetic and competitive club that operates 12 months per year with Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer sessions. Our CanSkate programs run on several days throughout the week. Our membership is approximately 2000 and growing.

The Oro-Medonte Skating Club is currently seeking a Skate Canada Certified Professional Coach willing to coach Can Skate and Star Skate

We require an enthusiastic, energetic coach who has strong interpersonal skills to join our coaching team for the 2011-2012 season. This candidate will be NCCP certified level 1 or higher and willing to teach all ages and levels of skating from Canskate through StarSkate in all disciplines (dance, freeskate and skills). All applicants must be able to work professionally with skaters, parents, other coaches and the executive board.
   Our skating season runs from October to March on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. We skate out of the Oro-Medonte Community Centre located on Highway 11 South at the 4th Line of Oro-Medonte.

GATEWAY SKATING CLUB


The GATEWAY SKATING CLUB of Edmonton Alberta requires certified skating coaches to join our current team, and work with all level of skaters for the 2011-12 season. 
The ideal candidate will be at minimum a NCCP Primary STARskate Certified Coach (Level 1).  The club offers about 32 hrs of ice between Monday and Saturday.  We have a growing membership of about 600 members with about 70 private skaters as well as a large CANskate and Jr STARskate group program.  Our STARskate program remains strong and our competitive program is growing. 
Applicants must be enthusiastic and be willing to work in a team atmosphere.  Applicants seeking full-time or part-time positions will be considered.
The position involves:

  • Working in a team environment
  • Coaching on Preschool, CANskate and Jr STARskate Group sessions
  • Immediate coverage of private lessons for current coaches of skaters in all disciplines – freeskate, dance and skills.  This could include STARskate and COMPetitive skaters depending on the credentials and experience of the applicant.
  • An opportunity to build a portfolio of skaters
  • Supporting all club events and our annual ice show
  • Opportunities to accompany skaters to competitions

York Region Skating Academy, located in Richmond Hill, is currently seeking a CanSkate Director.


YRSA is a well established club in Richmond Hill. The CanSkate Director will be positive, self motivated, organized,
and enthusiastic. This role is critical to the success of the YRSA Academy.
Some of the Responsibilities:
. Program organization
. Program scheduling
. Program staffing
. Direct evaluations
. Attending all sessions regularly
. Maintain regular and open communication with coaches, parents, skaters and board of directors
. Inventory of office supplies including badges
. Special Event Days . coordinating supplies and themes
. Timelines and Calendars
. Make sure conveners and coaches are aware of the timelines for last days of testing, report cards, etc.
. Communication (internal and external . newsletters, postings on website, etc)
YRSA will cover salary and other administrative costs based on annual budget.

Skate Canada - Mount Forest is seeking a Level 2 Coach for 2011-12

Skate Canada- Mount Forest is located just 40 minutes north of Guelph and 40 minutes east of Orangeville.
We are an expanding club that requires additional coaching staff for the growing need in the PreJunior and StarSkate sessions for private and group lessons. Syncro and Special Olympic qualifications are an asset.
We are looking for a Level 2 or very experienced Level 1 coach who is interested in collaborating with the Board and our 5 Coaches to improve and develop our sessions and is available to teach at least 2 to 3 days a week.
Sessions are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting in September and running till end of March. Programs offered range from CanSkate, CanPower, TeenSkate, StarSkate, Syncro and Adult Learn to Skate & Syncro as well as Special Olympics.

Silver Blades Skating Club is looking for an enthusiastic, professional coach who has strong interpersonal skills to join our coaching team.

Silver Blades Skating Club is a well-established club in Etobicoke with over 440 skating members. We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional coach who has strong interpersonal skills to join our coaching team. The ideal candidate will be NCCP certified level 2 or higher and willing to teach all levels of skating from canskate through StarSkate and up in all disciplines (canskate, dance, freeskate, skills, interpretive) for the 2011 -2012 skating season.
   Our skating season is from September to April (with an ice show this year) and we typically have a spring session from mid-April until the mid-May. The club skates out of Central Arena on Montgomery Road in Etobicoke and has approximately 29 hours of ice seven days a week.

Marathon Skating Club
is currently seeking a Skate Canada Certified Professional Coach

The Marathon Skating Club is currently seeking a Skate Canada Certified Professional Coach willing to coach Can Skate / Star Skate and up for the 2011/12 skating season. This position has potential to sign a contract for future skating seasons.
   Marathon FSC is looking for a coach that is positive, dedicated, self-motivated, organized, a good communicator and enthusiastic. Our skating season will run from late September to the end of March. The club consists of 38 members who range from 3 to 16 years of age. Marathon FSC offers ice time for all levels of skaters, with approximately 17 hours a week. Being able to partner primary dances would be an asset.
   Coaching rate is negotiable,
   All applicants must submit a copy of their NCCP coaching credentials, including current police background check, a current Skate Canada professional membership and first aid certificate.

Duties of the coach:
" Organize and prepare skaters for competition
" Coordinator of programs (Can Skate & STAR Skate)
" Provide progress reports once a year (March)
" Training of Program Assistants
" Maintain a positive and supportive rapport with parents and all skaters
" Direct and Produce Annual Ice Show
